For the most part of my life, I’ve struggled with my weight. It was hard to find clothes that would look nice, go out without feeling conscious, look good in pictures and deal with kids who’d tease me because of it.
I tried losing the weight since high school, started going to the gym when I entered college but I really had no discipline in what I ate. I’ve been repeatedly told about how big I was getting but somehow, I just came to accept it for it was.
Just last year, I found myself at my heaviest weight and thankfully, some form of motivation pushed me to finally start working on myself. I met my coaches Enzo and Julia through an Ateneo trade post and there my weight-loss journey started. I had to cut down on a lot of the food I loved but then again the change I wanted to see entailed sacrifice. I learned to appreciate eating healthier and started living a healthier lifestyle by finding the perfect balance in my diet. Exercising at least 2 times a week also helped me get closer to my goal.
4 months and 20 pounds later, here I am, more confident and even more proud of myself. It’s still a long way to go for me but this is a change I never even thought was possible.
I hope this story inspires whoever reads it. It may seem too hard or may take too long to notice any difference at first but the only way to actually see results is to get started.
