I was always the fat kid growing up. When I was younger, I would be the kid who would buy McDo at least four times a week and munch on sweets and junk food like there's no tomorrow. I can't count how many times I've said "bukas diet na talaga promise" every time I would eat too much, but never really follow through. It's not easy being obese, to be panting after climbing four flights of stairs, to feel like everyone's looking at your love handles all the time, to not even having the confidence to change clothes with people around.
Losing weight and getting the body you want is not impossible. You don't have to hit the gym everyday, or go through some drastic diet change, but what you have to do is to start. Start changing the small things in your lifestyle: instead of getting a large Coke when you're thirsty, drink water. Try to throw our all the junk food and chocolate you have at home, or give them away, or sell it. Instead of getting ice tea, squeeze an orange. Instead of ordering a pizza, you could grill a chicken. Instead of eating cake, eat an apple. Changing the little things bit by bit can make all the difference, and the only thing you need to do is to start!
I weighed 225 pounds the summer before I entered college last year. As of today, I weigh 192 pounds. It's not as drastic a change as what's usually shown in gym ads or weight-loss programs, but it's still a change that I am proud of!
